globalese by memoQ plugin settings
To set up the globalese by memoQ translation service in memoQ, you need a subscription. To get one, or start a 30-day free trial, contact our sales team.
How to get here
-
At the top of the memoQ window, click the Resource console
icon. The Resource console window opens.
-
In the Server URL list, choose or type the server's address.
If you wan to see local resources only, choose My computer, and click the Select
button.
-
In the left-side pane, click the MT settings
icon. The MT settings pane opens.
If you have projects with more than one target language, you can choose a language from the Target language dropdown list. You can find it in the top-right corner.
If you want to use the same MT settings for all target languages, don't change the default value (All languages).
-
Select the MT settings resource you are using, and click Edit under the list.
-
On the Services tab, find the plugin and click its row.
-
If it is active, click its row to open the globalese by memoQ plugin settings window.
-
If it is grayed out, click its row once to turn it on, then click it again to open the settings.
-
What can you do?
Enter your login info, connect to the service
-
Enter the Base URL address of your globalese by memoQ system.
-
Click the Connect button. memoQ validates your API key.
Set up machine translation
-
In the Engine list, select the engines you want to use.
You can choose one engine for each language pair.
You can choose only engines that have active instances.
-
The Log events to file check box is checked: the plugin collects information about its operation.
Logging on memoQ TMS: Make sure that the log path is in the %PROGRAMDATA%\memoQ Server folder on the server machine. memoQ TMS has write permission on this location.
-
To save your choices: Click OK.
Might be slow to start: At first, the globalese by memoQ translation service needs to initialize the MT engine, and might return translations with some delay. When you start pre-translating or working on a document, the engine catches up to its normal speed.
Engine language over project language: If you have an MT settings resource where a globalese by memoQ engine is configured to translate to French, and you add it to a project where the target language is German, the plugin will translate to French. To help avoid this, write the language pair and domain into the MT settings resource's name – for example, "globalese EN-FR medical".
When you finish
To save the settings and return to the Default resources tab of the Options window (or to the Resource console): Click OK, then click OK again.
To return to the Default resources tab of the Options window (or to the Resource console), without saving the new settings: Click Cancel, then click Cancel again.
